What we do
Our goal is to lessen the intensity and frequency of PTSD symptoms.
In a fight the victory often goes to the best defensive as well as offensive tactics. Combating PTSD is no different. We want to empower our members to take back control over their lives and minds by making the proper adjustments to the mindset to gain more control over the darkness.
As many as 500,000 U.S. troops who served in wars over the past 13 years have been diagnosed with PTSD.
As of 2012, the prevalence rates of PTSD among service members were “14.6% for emergency personnel, 7.3% for firefighters, 4.7% for police officers, and 13.5% for other rescue teams.”[18] “Nearly 400,000 first responders in the United States, and 10% worldwide are suffering from PTSD symptoms.”
We have three monthly meetings that actively engage our members to understand that they are not alone in their thoughts and perceptions after exposure to trauma. We unpack what trauma does to an individual as a group and develop strategies and plans of actions that are proactive not just reactive.
Come to WOR with us. Where we all can figure it out together.”
